Fukkk Offf Again.

Fukkk Offf is back with a scorching second single from his debut album Love Me, Hate Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me. 'More Than Friends' has been the dominating track from the album with it's male/female hip hop duet about a sneaky encounter at the club and has been begging for an equally dominating remix package.

Italy's CongoRock step up first with a club banger that is as reminiscent of old school Chicago jack tracks as it is telling of the future of dancefloor mayhem. CongoRock strips out most of the vocal leaving you with a heavy chant, driving rhythms and chaotic melodies. Markus Lange & StereoFunk take things way back to the land of 80's disco funk. Leaving the vocal intact with a new arrangement the ML & SF mix sits as well alongside Sugar Hill Gang as it does anything out there today; Timeless.

Solo Takes Over The Westbury

Dance on Glass – the monthly night at NW London's The Westbury continues its rich vein of form by bringing you one of 2009’s breakthrough stars Solo who will be manning the desks and making his Westbury DJ debut at this month’s dance-indie night on Friday 9th October.

Solo is a pioneer at the forefront of the new wave of rhythmically infused house music. The Italian globetrotter has a string of high profile remixes under his belt, in addition to his original tracks ‘Afreaka’, ‘Midgets in Brick Lane’ and ‘People Who Smokes’. Often working with Mowgli, and Bastard Batty Bass’ Hannah Holland, Solo – who describes his sound as ‘Midget House’ - has recently been signed up to Claude Von Strokes label.

What's Solo sounds like? Think glitchy, think minimal, think bubbling tunes and you have some idea of what Solo is all about. He's great at building you up and then throwing you over the edge in to the minimal abyss and that just means his sets are brilliant.

Junior Boys To Go Trick Or Treating

Junior Boys will be embarking on a North American tour next month, including a special Halloween show at The Bell House in Brooklyn. Fans are, however, strongly encouraged to celebrate the holiday at all of the shows on tour and attend any of the dates in full Halloween regalia. Best costumes will be rewarded with shirts and CDs!

Jeremy Greenspan, one half of Junior Boys, explains the month-long Halloween celebration: "Part of being a young Jewish kid to me was directing all of your excitement that should've been for Christmas towards Halloween. I was obsessed with Halloween as a kid, I waited for it impatiently, lamented it when it was over. All of my childhood obsessions with science fiction, horror stories, weird movies and strange music all seemed to converge at Halloween. I was particularly mesmerized by Halloween specials like Disney's 'The Skeleton Dance' and 'The Legend of Sleepy Hollow', and a television show produced in Hamilton called 'The Hilarious House of Frightenstein'. Even my indoctrination into dance music came from older gothy friends of mine who seemed to see a direct continuation from the spooky sounds of throbbing gristle and skinny puppy to early 90s detroit techno. Such was the Hamilton mentality at the time... who knows....Anyway when it came about that we would be touring around the release of our single called “Bits and Pieces" during October, all sorts of Halloween fantasies started churning up in my mind. So although we couldn't quite afford full on GWAR style theatrics, we are hoping that people come to the shows in a Halloween kinda mindset (and attire), and help us ring in Samhain all month long."

The duo of Greenspan and Matthew Didemus released their third album, Begone Dull Care, earlier this year on Domino Records. A new single featuring Modeselektor and Prins Thomas remixes of Begone Dull Care tracks “Bits and Pieces” and “Work” will be released in time for Hanukkah. “Bits and Pieces” will also be accompanied by a new video directed by Stephanie Comilang, Final Fantasy's visual collaborator.

This One Is For The Foreign Born

Here's the latest post from the forgotten treasure trove of music. This time we're unearthing some long lost Foreign Born tracks. Enjoy.

Los Angeles has a stigma about it in the independent music world. For many years the vapidness of the mainstream pop stardom mega-machine has cast a shadow over the city, hiding from the national view LA's vibrant underground scene. This scene shows the deep levels of talent and culture evident in LA, once you look past Hollywood.

Foreign Born is perhaps the best encapsulation of the LA scene: lurking just under the radar until the recent release of their new album Person To Person, blending many cultural influences with seamless ease, and producing dynamic off-shoot bands such as Fool's Gold and Glasser.

They're Your Pushermen...

In the shadow of Manhattan’s skyscrapers, Disco Pusher -- the musical partnership of Sisko and David Greenberg -- are working feverishly on a staggering, ever-expanding canon of songcraft. Like mad scientists of sound, few can rival the pair’s inexorable work ethic as songwriters, producers, remixers and recording artists.

Counting remixes for pop icons (Justin Timberlake, Gwen Stefani), hip/hop’s elite (Lil Jon & Too $hort) and up and comers of every variety (Cut Copy, The Bravery, Santogold, The Editors, Scissor Sisters), Disco Pusher belongs on the shortlist of any new or established artist looking to bring its music to new heights.

Throw in some work with film and you have a crew that's multi-media savvy, remix friendly, busy as hell and so spot on they can take tomorrow and dip it in a dream (anyone??). Their work is prolific and they've got more material than they even handle waiting in the wings. Where these guys find time to breathe is beyond me, but I'm glad they are because without them the dance floor wouldn't be the same.

Another One Rides Le Bus

Paul Edwards, one half of Toronto's Le Bus, has been producing various forms of electronic music since 1996 and has shared the stage with Orbital, been invited to the Detroit Electronic Music Festival, and mixed beats to stunned Nickleback fans at Edgefest in Toronto.

That alone should give him some respect amongst the cynics out there. Le Bus, his alter ego along with Ron Starfield says they're about the following...black holes, big bangs, sex, the wheel, language, music, and infinity.

With remixes that are full on pill munching dance floor crushers. Le Bus make musical constructs that sound like something blasted off a Bonkers compilation, slowed down, with piano house flourishes added and then run through the 2009 electro processor. It's truly ass kicking stuff that will have you throwing your arms in the air begging for mercy like you really really care.

Le Bus is one form of public transportation worth taking.

CJ Milli Ain't About That Vanilli

As I mentioned on Friday, I've unearthed a treasure trove of tunes recently. It was all stuff that was supposed to be posted, but for one reason or another never got put up on the blog. Well here's the latest post from that trove...CJ Milli.

When asked to talk a little about herself, DJ CJ Milli jokingly said, "I don't have an official bio or anything but I live in Richmond, Virginia (ugh) and I DJ, which is why I started making so many 'mash-ups.' "

I guess living in Richmond will do that to a girl...it's pretty similar to living here in Jacksonville and maybe that's why our two fair cities have a bit of an exchange program going on. I know many a soul who has moved to Richmond and a few people that have retreated south.

Anyway, location aside, CJ takes what she loves (90's tunes) and makes them her very own with a style that's funky, flashy, metallic and damn good. The girl knows her way around a beat whether it be electro, hip hop or whatever and she has no problem re-constructing classics into something new and different without losing the soul of the original. She's definitely a DJ to keep an eye on and I'm sure it's only a matter of time before she finds her way to Florida.

Until then check her tunes out...

theAmplid Gets Busy

This is a little bit old but it is from the desk of theAmplid...

We have been quiet for a while...not working hard enough on our music but involved in other projects and stuff. But that's the past, we are back. And to prove it, we are releasing two new tracks.

One of them is not so new, we used to play the demo version of it in our live sets, and its was about time we sent it for everyone to enjoy. Its called "Last Days" and its some heavily 80s influenced electro...but not in that "revival" way... its more of an electro banger, but with some 80s influences. You can hear it from the main guitar riff or the piano...but there is nothing like a powerful bass and loud kick drum to get people moving. Here it is, check it out.

Download: Last Days (via Mediafire)

The other one is a remix we just finished for Felix da Housecat's new single, "We All Wanna Be Prince". We even did a cover of a Prince song some time ago so when we found out that Felix said just what we were thinking...we thought we should give it a try and remix his song. Expect more "guitarrish" sounds and heavy basses, but there is less distortion in this track. The vocals were quite amazing and tried to get everything around them.

Download: We All Wanna Be Prince (via Mediafire)

Oh, and just so you know...we are just finishing our new EP and hope to have it released by the end of the year!

They're My Favorite Robots

Over the last 12 months My Favorite Robot and their eponymous titled imprint have risen to become much respected vanguards of the Canadian electro techno sound. Band member/label owners Jared Simms and Voytek Korab have so far expressed their unique sound through a string of singles with remixes from Canadian based and worldwide talent, now they step up with their debut long player, entitled ‘We Come in Pieces’.

Cuts such as ‘All My Circuits’, ‘Modest Goddess’ and ‘Minutes from madness’ have seen previous outings on single releases and have picked up stellar DJ support but there are a string of new hidden gems here including the glitchy Curtis minimalism of ‘Wakinda Park’ and the bleepy tech stylings of ‘Wasted Time’.

It's Filewile

Andreas Ryser (Dustbowl) and Daniel Jakob (Dejot) started out in 2003 as mobile laptop street musicians at the gates of the Sonar festival. This swiftly gave their freshly minted group, Filewile, an international reputation.

During endless rehearsals for a Flamenco theatre-dance piece under the hot sun of southern Spain, DJ Dustbowl and musician and singer Dejot come up with the concept for Filewile, by following a strict DIY strategy. Music, production, distribution, concerts, merchandise would all be done by themselves allowing them to enjoy all the freedom, but take on all the responsibility as well.

Six years on, their DIY approach is successful as they have a handful of tunes, and two albums under their belt. Now, just a few months after the release of their sophomore album, Blueskywell Filewile are back yet again with a new single entitled Number One Kid.

Truth be told, the single is just about unclassifiable. It's a whole host of electronic influences smashed together into something that's twisted and tuneful and very worldly. It's electro and hip influenced, but it's so much more than just that...it has a vibe that aspires to be something more and it succeeds not only because it sounds different but because it's also quite good. The single features mixes by Robot Koch, Algorythm & Blues, Mercury and Ramax and comes with a wonderful video clip by Jan Muehletaler (Roja Media).

It's The Opposite Sex

The Opposite Sex are a bit behind the times. But, you see, that's a good thing because these masters of dark swirling art pop probably haven't bought a new record since 1984 and they've now channelled those influences and rushed them to today.

The results of all this is a time swelling, noisy sheet of noise that's dramatic and oh so good. Their album, Live and Burn will have anyone who knows anything about music very excited. For those of you who just downloaded your first Echo and the Bunnymen tune you'll enjoy it as well.

Live and Burn is the follow-up to The Opposite Sex’s 2007 full-length Violent Heartstrings and breathes bigger life into the group’s dark, post punk sound, heightening its elements of pop and 60's psych. It's fantastic stuff and will warm the cockles of the hearts of anyone who lives on the dark side of life.

We're Leaving From Mars

Play Me Records is a new label from the heart & soul of longtime DJs Reid Speed & Mark Subsonik who teamed up to bring forth a musical outlet for all things fun yet bass heavy. Their vision stems from their shared love of the bass part of drum & bass and Reid's serious genre mashing, crowd rinsing DJ sets. The sounds they bring demonstrate a diverse range of styles which find consistency in the low end.

The genre varies by release, but ranges from the bassline side of electro & fidget house to the grittiest, gnarliest dubstep. Play Me has cultivated a fine roster of original artists and remixers in its short existence, and takes pride in seeking out serious heat from up and coming talent.

The first release featured Supercycle's "The Dead Walk" with After Midnight's "No Tomorrow", the second, Your Dirty Habit's remix of "No Tomorrow" with a Lazerbitch original "Coquette".

Now they are proud to present their latest release: Lea Luna's Leaving From Mars (Remixes Pt. 1). Featuring the vocal stylings of Denver-based siren Lea Luna, remixers B. Rich and Mike Balance each create a unique setting for her escape.

KiD A Was Not Was

Anni T is the 21 year old singer/composer/producer behind KiD A. This Virginia (US) based artist brings us a masterful mash-up of club, electro, glam and alt dance. With her debut single (wasnotwas) already receiving recognition from the likes of The Sunday Times and Music Week, KiD A is already on the lips of the people who do the talking.

Raised on jazz as a child, by her teenage years she was blaring out anything from Brian Eno to The Cure. When it came to her picking up the mic herself, that was a slightly different story: “I was in a band at school, and we needed a singer. We all chose straws. Mine was the shortest of them all.”

She recently stepped into the studio with Dan Le Sac to finish her debut EP In A Dream House, We All Ride Carousels. With this due for release before the end of 2009. Judging by Was Not Was, KiD A is destined for great things. She's taken her lovely singer songwriter like voice and worked it so well over on these tunes that she's a diva in waiting. Clear some room on the dance floor because it's not Radiohead that's about to take it over, but KiD A.

Magnolia Electric Co. Turns On The Power

After several days of bangers it's time to slow it down just a bit. One of the coolest, most chill singer songwriters on the planet is Jason Molina. The guy is more like a storyteller than just a musician and his tunes are wondering day dreams of beauty. As fate would have it, Mr. Molina never slows down and just when you need to come down...he shows up with a new record.

Hitting shelves of independent record stores around the world this week is Magnolia Electric Co.'s exclusive new Rider.Shadow.Wolf. 7" that finds the band introducing a surf-rock dynamic into its signature punch. The track is the standout among the plethora of cuts recorded during the same productive session that gave us the band's most recent longplayer, Josephine. On "Rider.Shadow.Wolf.," Molina's tired rider, just having battled the desert, now meets the eternity of the ocean.

Also found on the limited 7" is a stripped-down, early take of "Josephine." This particular recording of "Josephine" was laid down just after the song's inception, during the session that will later be released as a collaborative album from Molina and Will Johnson of Centro-matic. This version features Molina, Johnson and Magnolia jack-of-all-trades Michael Kapinus on keys, and serves as a preview of what's to come in the arc of Molina's career. Keep an eye out for more news on the Molina/Johnson collaboration coming very soon.

Wake Up From A Coma

Coma are Marius Bubat and Georg Conrad, both in their mid twenties. They are a breath of fresh air in the streets of Cologne because as two producers who are open minded, they have no problems combining pop, rave, techno and rock in to a very unique, subtle and elegant blend of electronic music. Coma describe themselves as nu-rave and old-school techno, 80's pop and 2k-modernity in a deep hug. While that sounds a bit pervy it pretty much sums up their sound and their influences to a tee. Coma goes against the grain by forgetting the hype and what's trendy and making music that while aimed at the world has a big German stamp on it.

They've recently released a new single on Kompakt titled Crystal. It's their first for Kompakt after releasing records for a whole host of labels including Firm, they've made the big leap and judging by their past work it's well deserved. Their new single is a corker. Three songs of brilliance lush minimalism that sounds like the tunes Orbital would be playing while they were watching the sun rise. It's epic heavenly stuff!

Metronomy Returns...World Jumps For Joy

After their recent reincarnation as a fully realised four piece, UK's electro-pop superstars Metronomy are ready to offer up a spread of new music! What's even more ironic is I was JUST listening to them before this showed up. And how excited was I that there was NEW music? Let's just say there was a fist pump involved.

The brand new seven song EP, out October 5th, features the equally outstanding "Not Made For Love" and "Do The Right Thing". This is backed by "What Do I Do Now? " and an array of resplendent remixes courtesy of Leo Zero, Wild Geese, Joakim and more.

After a summer of running on the festival front, Joseph Mount and company whipped up a dance storm in tents all over the world, including Summersonic in Japan, Reading, Leeds and Bestival in the UK, Switzerland, France and forthcoming North American tour in October. See full live dates below.

Gooseflesh Gives Goosebumps

Signed on the Boxon Records label, Gooseflesh is the alliance of two producers from Turkey: Ulas Pakkan (aka Jackdied) and Volkan Akaalp (aka Jasko).

This Middle Eastern duo has caused plenty of dance floor damage not only, in their home country, but worldwide. Working with Digitalism and Tiga on two noteworthy remixes for "Taken Away," and "Mind Dimension," respectively, the duo has escaped the Mideast and are now positioning themselves as a promising young duo.

Judging by their latest single, Still Wild this shouldn't take them very long. Sounding a bit like an old 90's piano house classic rammed together with some loopy electro and a strong pop sensibility, the tune is a party anthem waiting to cross over from the Med and throw you around a dance floor. Packed with huge hooks and a chorus that you'll NEVER forget this tune is easily one of the better singles you're likely to hear this Fall. Top stuff.

Sebastian Davidson Loves His Pancakes

Sebastian Davidson has just unleashed his latest single on Cologne, Germany's Conya records and it's a lush, ethereal treat. Oddly titled, Swabian Pancakes the record is like a chilled out Sunday morning with just enough of a beat to get you going and enough motivation to get you out of bed. It's nice, slow building stuff that's perfect for a sunrise.

Collaborating with Dutch DJ Estroe, they've truly come up with something special here. It's not often you say the words beautiful when describing electronic music, but this is truly something that is. A four to the floor banger this is not. What this is, is more mature and refined if you will and if you dig things that burn slowly, than Swabian Pancakes will quench your thirst.

Jump Clubb Love No Dance.

Meet Jump Clubb. A band from Beverly Hills whose music combines dance, disco, and electronic styles with indie mentalities and vocals straight from the height of the lo-fi era.

The juxtoposition melds an interesting style of music that Jump Clubb has coined “No Dance”. On one hand you have the upbeat soul and funk influence that aims at getting anyone and everyone up and dancing. This mixed with lo-fi and low energy vocals which describe tales of heartbreak and Jump Clubb’s own view of their insecure and superficial hometown, creates a wonderful style that urges you to rethink your next trip to the dancefloor.

It really honestly just reminds me of a whole host of indie-dance crossover records from the early 90's. It's got that "hey this is so new we'll try anything," approach and it works for them. They've crammed their music all together, sequenced it, and then said, "lets see what happens,"and the results are blast from the past that comes strangely from Beverly Hills, California. The funny thing is, if this was 1990, Jump Clubb would be right at home in Manchester smack dab in the middle of the Hacienda. One listen to 'Rather Be Played,' and those of us who remember the birth of dance music (kids go ask your parents) will be taken back...way back and sometimes that's a good thing.

Wherefore is Lackthereof (Huh?)

Danny Seim is mad prolific. Seriously. Before he started the acclaimed Portland, OR art rock trio Menomena (in which he drums impressively, and, along with the other two members, sings, writes, composes, arranges, deconstructs, and reassembles), he was the sole, inexhaustible, and promotion-averse member of Lackthereof. Seim still finds time for making Lackthereof recordings, which, over the project's ten year history, have ranged from lo-fi to lush, acoustic to synthetic, poppy to noisy.

FILMguerrero will release a limited-edition retrospective of the work of Lackthereof on October 13th, 2009. Entitled A Lackthereof Retrospective 1998-2008, or I was a Christian Emo Twentysomething this album, the 10th full-length Lackthereof release, contains the best of Seim's Lackthereof work, selected by him from among a decade of remarkable electronic beat experiments, lo-fi indie dub, simple acoustic soundscapes, challenging art pieces, and much more. The record will be available as a limited-edition CD (featuring 20 new original illustrations by Seim) and at finer digital retailer shops.

It's A Dancefloor Kill Frenzy

Kill Frenzy is a young dj producer from Limburg, Belgium. He got the music bug a few years ago listening to his good friend Jules X deejaying. Young Frenzy worked his way into the production game rather fast and was the very first European juke (booty house) producer to release several booty tracks on the infamous Dust Traxx label (Chicago) and the legendary DJ Godfather's label, Juke Trax online (Detroit). Even techno legend and beat-juggling-expert Dave Clarke is a Kill Frenzy fan, putting some of his early productions in his chart!

Not wanting to limit himself to just one style he started working on producing various styles. Heʼs first EP was picked up immediately by Joshua Harvey, better now as: Hervé or The Count of Monte Cristal. Harvey signed Kill Frenzy to his well known and well respected Cheaper Thrills label and the “54321” EP came out in the beginning of August 2009.

New productions and remixes are on their way and in the meantime Kill Frenzy will tear dancefloors near you apart with his deadly mix of all kind of house styles Some like to call him Belgiumʼs own Mr. Oizo.

As if to prove the point, Kill Frenzy has just released a full on eighty minute mix under the name The Year 4000. Fusing just about everything under the sun together in the course of the mix, Kill Frenzy takes you on a wild ride. It's a roller coaster ride of beats, glitchy keyboards, samples, and a sense of chaos. The mix will simply wear you out as it tosses you around the dance floor in a frenetic fashion. Just when you think he's settled into a groove, Kill Frenzy does a 180 and goes the other way. It's unpredictable nature is what makes this so fun to listen to and what makes Kill Frenzy a pretty damn good DJ.

Deastro Is No Disaster

The title of Deastro's "Tone Adventure #3" may evoke a "working title"-like looseness--why name a song when you can simply number it?--but the track itself is one of Moondagger's tightest. "Tone Adventure #3" is an archetypal Deastro song, as Randolph Chabot sprints through catchy, melodic passages with maniacal conviction, howling about feet being "strapped to cannon balls" from behind a wall of computer-generated atmosphere. In keeping with its title, "Tone Adventure #3" is more psychedelic than much of Moondagger, warping its instruments into unrecognizable, mutant sound-entities. Glockenspiels, spy-movie guitars, orchestral stabs, and alien ray guns all make appearances--as they should in any good adventure.

On "Tone Adventure #3"'s B-side, Toronto electro producer I Am Robot And Proud remixes Moondagger's "Greens, Grays, and Nordics" into a joyous, MIDI-fueled daydream. The song's previously sinister tone gets the lo-fi electronics treatment from the Robot's gleeful presets--the re-harmonized final chorus alone is worth the price of admission.

CFCF Lands On The Continent

Montreal-based DJ and electronic artist CFCF (aka Michael Silver) is preparing for the release of his first full-length debut album, Continent, on Paper Bag Records. The twelve-track album is the followup to his celebrated Panesian Nights EP, and will be released on October 27th. As CFCF works his way towards Continent, he will first release, The Explorers EP, featuring label mate Sally Shapiro on October 6th.

The songs that make up Continent were created at Silver's home studio between the fall of 2008 and this summer with no hard deadlines for their completion. This gave Silver the opportunity to allow his ever-changing listening habits and influences reflect in the songs. The end result is an album that shifts effortlessly between several styles and sounds while fitting together as a diverse but cohesive package. There is common theme running through Continent's songs even if it is not easy to pinpoint or describe.

The Montreal native has been creating tracks since his pre-teens and has only begun to present his music publicly in the last couple of years. CFCF's career began to take off with his contest winning remix of Crystal Castles "Air War" and has followed up with a chain reaction of official remixes for talents such as Sally Shapiro, The Presets, HEALTH, The Teenagers and Hearts Revolution among many others.

"For the songs on this album I usually started with an idea in mind of a specific atmosphere I wanted to convey," says Silver. "That atmosphere, whether it was something hazy, nostalgic, otherworldly or unsettling, was always the first thing to come to a track. The songs range from mid-tempo nu-disco to Balearic, house to ambient. Often the basis of the atmosphere was culled from films by Werner Herzog, Michael Mann, David Lynch, and David Cronenberg as well as countless musical influences including Arthur Russell, Saint Etienne, and Tangerine Dream."

Eek...it's Egadz!

After establishing an amazing worldwide following with his first two albums Monotony and Shining Hours, Egadz! continues to prove why he is one of the most flexible and eclectic artists in the Electronic genre. His latest album, Egadz Is Dead features his signature style of melodic - half acoustic - psychedelic electronica.

Egadz Is Dead is all over the place in a sci-fi movie extravaganza. It's instrumental works jump between dramatic and quiet to aggressive and filled with fat basses and big beats. It's an album filled with songs just waiting for a movie to be constructed around them. Egadz Is Dead is a versatile record that should only further the legend that's become Egadz!

While Egadz is Dead is the final album from Egadz!, it is not the final project from creator Erik Nava. We'll just have to wait and see who comes calling first...a new band or Hollywood.

Music For Your Heart

Music For Your Heart is the alter ego of Sandra Zettpunkt. Her coaxing timbre slips into the ear, suggesting thoughts fed on experience and expectation – mostly in English, sometimes in German. Time and again, stunning vocal harmonies arise from the substrate to open up familiar territories, a voice couched in transparent arrangements.

Playing all of the instruments herself, discounting the occasional guest presence of a double bass, Sandra weaves a timeless and sensitive fabric of sound embellished with a thread of nostalgia

On Turning Marvel sounds something like Cat Power meets Camera Obscura in the middle of a field of heather. It's pastoral and folky in all the best ways and sung in an absolutely perfect English accent. On Turning Marvel is truly beautiful stuff that's far more than just your average folk pop record.

I've Lost My Baby Teeth

Hustle Beach is the third album from Baby Teeth, Chicago's reigning champions of brainy pop. The album is the fruit of a songwriting blog, "52 Teeth," maintained by bandleader Abraham Levitan, on which he posted a new song each week for one year. Over the course of this project, inspired by Philip Roth's American Pastoral, he began writing about suburban dystopia, generating the lyrical heart of the album -- songs like "Big Schools," "The Swede," and "Hustle Beach."

The album shows Abraham’s new found commitment to lyrically direct songwriting. Emerging from the soaring melodrama of The Simp (2007), Hustle Beach is a gritty response for the recession era. It looks at life as it is – growing up, getting married, going on vacations, acquiring material possessions, losing material possessions, growing old – with humor and intelligence fully intact. It's also a terribly catchy record that makes you drive fast.

This is For The White In Your Eyes

This Is for the White in Your Eyes, the full-length debut by Danish collective Choir of Young Believers , is teeming with instruments—voices, pianos, synthesizers, banjos, an orchestra’s ransom in strings and French horns.

But when you listen it’s not the arrangements that dominate so much as the images they conjure. Snow-flecked mountaintops, deserted city streets, ghost-filled churches, a final kiss between estranged lovers—this is the emotional terrain trod by Jannis Noya Makrigiannis and his Choir of Young Believers.

This Is for the White in Your Eyes is an album of orchestral indie-pop, but its artistic scope extends beyond melody and harmony: Choir of Young Believers paint cinematic tableaux, with Jannis cast as the silvery-voiced narrator. It's truly beautiful stuff and despite how complex everything gets with all the arrangements and instrumentation its nice that the songs deep down are nothing but simple pop songs. "Action/Reaction," is a perfect demonstration of this as it sounds something like Brian Wilson would write if he were 25 years old today and resurrected Lush. The song takes a harmony, warps it, repeats it, surrounds it with a teenage symphony to god and well comes up with a perfect little pop song. Epically brilliant pop that's rooted in simplicity.
