Punks Jump Up Chime In

Punks Jump Up are a bit legendary. Quickly rising to the cream of the proverbial remix and production crop, everything they've released since their humble beginnings have been fantastic. Rarely making a mis-step this is one group you can rely on for top notch work.

This is true, yet again, with their new single, Chimes pt 1. The follow up to the monstrous, "Blockhead," released earlier this year the tune is a driving & melodic electro/disco/insert genre here track with anthemic possibilities. It will be the first release on the prolific Klein Records' new off shoot alternative dance label kleinTanz (www.kleintanz.com).

Remixes come from the legendary dance maestro REMUTE from Hamburg, cryptic YOUNGER THAN ME a fresh name taking the London scene by surprise, golden boy of disco GOLDEN BUG from Barcelona and last but not least, SAY YES TO ANOTHER EXCESS (Danny from The C90s & Stopmakingme). This enigmatic but high scoring duo from London released their first Single on the Australian Bang Gang imprint in May.

Should you find this, download this, buy it?  Uh, yeah.

More Fukkk Offf...

Bastian 'Fukkk Offf' Heerhorst has been renowned for some time in his hometown of Hamburg for storming live sets in the clubs scattered around the city’s red light district. "Die sündige Meile" or "the sinful mile" as it is known, has seen its walls shaken and thighs quaked by the throbbing depths of Bastian's big room Fukkk Offf sound.

Bastian is back with his latest single called Worldwide and it's a corker. With four smokin’ new tracks this is bound to be the freshest soundtrack to Hamburg’s red light district the Reeperbahn.

"Brain Rock," comes off like a more acidic Chemical Brothers at their 90's best. Fukkk Off pretty much light the fuse to this single and run away as the tune throbs, rocks, and wobbles til it explodes. "Worldwide," on the other hand sees Fukkk Offf teaming up with Hazel for a full on Hip-Hop electro workout. It's a funky tune that funks the hell out as Hazel flows like the Rhine.

Be on the lookout for a full remix package of ‘Worldwide’ in early 2011.

The Japanese Popstars Let Go

In between live shows at BBC Radio 1’s Ibiza Weekend, Reading, Leeds, Bestival, Rockness, Creamfields, and beyond, The Japanese Popstars are finishing their second album. They’ve just remixed Gorillaz’ ‘Melancholy Hill’, and are drip-feeding a series of club tracks to satiate those eagerly awaiting the long-player’s release in early 2011.

Following the Destroy EP, a sonic appetiser that saw them joined by Jon Spencer (he of the Blues Explosion), the next release is Let Go, featuring the madcap legend that is Green Velvet. Hailed as the rightful heirs to Underworld, Leftfield, The Chemical Brothers, and Orbital, The Japanese Popstars’ debut album, We Just Are was championed by The Guardian, Word, Artrocker, NME, Clash, Popjustice, Mixmag, DJ, Radio 1, XFM, and beyond.

Kissy Sell Out Storm London In October

We get sent a lot of stuff. So much so, doing email is like a full time job. And needless to say we get lots of party fliers...unfortunately, there's only 24 hours in a day AND we have day jobs that we kind of need to pay the bills. So getting to these things is just about impossible.

But, that doesn't mean we can't say..."Damn...that looks like a fine night out." This happens to be one of those occasions. Check it out...

KISSY SELL OUT’S SAN CITY HIGH TOUR HITS LONDON!
with...
Anti Chris
Blamma! Blamma!
Hot Pink Delorean (USA)
KISSY SELL OUT
The Squatters
Union
Urchins
Zed’s Dead (CANADA)

Holy hell look at this line up and ask yourselves if you shouldn't find a way to crawl out of your flat and get down to London?

The answer is pretty obvious if you ask us...

Alfa's On Sky Patrol

Alfa, aka Zak Aldridge, has been hard at work over the last year working on his debut EP, which is nearing completion. Alfa's music is music for the car, for your headphones, and for late nights. A focus on melody and crisp production separates Alfa from his contemporaries, who seem much more interested in either going as heavy as possible, or washing out their sounds as much as possible.

"Sky Patrol" itself is Alfa's first original release since his songs that were on Binary's compilation, LA Lights. "Sky Patrol" is just a small taste of what you can expect from his EP. Zak has been working with various singers, guitarists, and session players while crafting the songs for the release.

Hopefully Alfa is on patrol in the studio and will finish his work soon...we're dying over here.

Frederik Olufsen Rocks

There’s just no way to describe the sounds that come out of Copenhagen’s hottest young producer. Straight out of the Danish uptown underground we dare to bring you Frederik Olufsen and his premier EP for Coco Machete called ‘Rocks’.

This is pure electro but with touches of minimal, techno, deep house, dubstep and more. The whole release coheres around deep dark & distorted voices reminiscent of Lil’ Louis’ ‘Blackout’ telling the story of Mr. Olufsen’s rise from the Copenhagen underground.

This past spring Fredirik’s remix for TAI was the surprise breakout mix so CocoMachete decided to give him room to stretch out a bit…they gave us ‘Rocks’.

Brace for Brackles

Tuesday K7 released the debut official mix CD from RinseFM DJ and general man about town when it comes to bass music, Brackles. The mix touches on many of the diverging elements which make up today's cutting edge bass music scene and includes tracks from well known boundary pushers such as Zomby, Flying Lotus, Cooly G, Roska, Floating Points & more, as well as some names you're likely to hear a lot more from in the coming months.

The label is celebrating the occasion by floating out an unreleased remix from Brackles that's been making the dubplate rounds for a minute. You might have heard it in sets from Ben UFO, Martin Kemp, & others.

We're pretty sure you'll enjoy it.

You Can Have Your Cake and Eat It Too.

Eat More Cake are a 4-piece band comprising songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Andrew Briggs and Matt Pearn, drummer Alex Lane and DJ Owen Charles.

As the hype surrounding Eat More Cake's debut album Climb The Ladder, Live The Dream builds, the band are proud to present their new single 'Has To Be Done' with remixes by Lazybones, Choking Dolphin and The Domino State. The track is about inner conflict expressed through characters who try but fail to overcome their differences. Musically a colossal rolling bass line is interspersed with a huge wall of beats, synths and guitars which reflects the tension laid out in the vocals.

Their debut album Climb The Ladder, Live The Dream will be released in 2010.

Proper Villains Under The Big Top

Over a year in the making, Proper Villains have finally released their latest EP! Big Top is about as big as you can go, complete with swervey bass, air horns galore, ghetto claps and even some of that most coveted of rave resources – the piano breakdown! Yes, this is perfect for the festival season and if this don't get those filthy ravers going, then nothing will.

The title track, “Big Top”, is a rolling bass-house masterpiece with massive undulating bass under horn stabs and wait -is that Ozzy? This is truly a tune for the big top and with more sounds and samples than a sequencer the song is absolutely mad....oh wait...it's wicked and wobbly. All it really needs is a lion roar for that true circus feel.

Nice stuff indeed.
