Head To The Outlands

OUTLANDS is the midnight duo of disco-noir extraordinaires Mark and Melissa, broadcasting their bewitching beats straight out of Blacksburg, VA. After sending around a demo of the single “Com Ocean,” the pair were picked up by cassette label, Chill Mega Chill Records. OUTLANDS retreated from the scene only to re-emerge a few months later bearing their entirely self-produced debut EP, a celestial concoction of Mark’s tripped-out dance beats and Melissa’s hauntingly sultry vocal melodies.

Existing somewhere between the four-on-the-floor thump of disco, the sensuality of 90s R&B, and the hypnotism of their electronic contemporaries, the resulting blend of sounds found on the OUTLANDS EP leaves it truly peerless. From the first subterranean, rumbling basslines of “The Looming” to the hi-gloss sheen of “Sisters/Lovers,” OUTLANDS has crafted a mesmerizing collection of songs that is destined to soundtrack the steamiest of after-hours dance parties.

It's All Ad Ventury Like

With Volcano they might just level it all.  Exploding in a fiery blast of beats, hard synths, and screaming Ventury hits hard and hits fast.  Reminding us of Does It Offend You, Yeah? Kid Blue And BIINX Team Up

Sturdy 004, My Lovin smashes forward on the hype of London’s Kid Blue. Hailing from the LOT49 stable, his talents have placed him as a pinnacle above a sea of mediocrity. With some of the thickest kicks in his arsenal, his arpeggiator lines blur the limits between a disco and a rave. Delivered with a classic vocal stab, wrapping up into a tripling, pecu­lating arp, with a squelchy monster acid bubblebath breakdown, Sturdy 004 promises to be a dance floor smasher among the party rocking tech funk masses.

BIINX, a promising new duo, present a remix with effective use of the original, adding their own flavor to synth elements during the break­down, while pushing the upper register in a screaming effort. Be on the lookout for this driven young duo.

Heartstopper's Electro Pop Therapy

ElectroPopTherapy is a deeply personal EP that finds upcoming producer Eries 'Heartstopper' Cornelius combining the biggest genres of music to give addicted electronic fans the treatment they've been looking for. ElectroPopTherapy marks the first official release from Heartstopper and YCTP Music.

"Moments come and go," says Heartstopper, "but I feel like this is my moment to introduce the world to what I'm capable of. ElectroPopTherapy is a reflection of me and the different sounds that I grew to love. 

Recorded in Florida and sounding like it, Heartstopper takes that slightly cheesy sound that made the state famous, classes it up a bit and makes stuff that sounds like Bangers & Cash relocated to the middle of the state and moved into Celebration.

"Nasty Girl," the download below, is a sweaty, messy, and sloppy seconds slice of electro that's guaranteed to pack out floors.

Clubfeet Have The Last Words

Clubfeet return with their newest single, "Last Words," another piece of melancholic pop from the Melbourne (via Cape Town via Biarritz) band.

The single has been remixed by some of their friends and you don't want to miss these. Indie producer Andrew Maury, aka RAC, drops a chunky, catchy mix that works equally well in clubs, on the radio, at home, or through the sound system at the local planetarium while extremely high.

Next up, London-bases The C90s turn in a remix that is synth-heavy, twisting and turning into a slab of pop-funk that will shake any and all booties.

Computer Blue Shuts Down

Is this the end of Computer Blue? Sadly, yes, but the story of Computer Blue has a happy ending which we will tell you about another day. Just look out for something new coming in their place.

Game Boy is the last and only original release that Computer Blue was able to put out before they called it quits. And if you're going to go out, you might as well go out with a bang.

Bang is exactly what Game Boy is all about...this dark throbbing mass of dance music pulsates into oblivion and that's a good thing. So enjoy the end of the Computer Blue revolution before they shut it down for good.

Count & Sinden Get Mega Mega

Nightshifters Take A Look Back

Nightshifters: Selections One is a look back on 2 years of great tunes and even better parties! Based in Berlin/New York, the label has been turning out bass house anthems by acts such as Hostage, AC Slater, Rob Threezy, DJ Donna Summer, Rampage, Jubilee and Proper Villains accompanied by remixes by many of the most innovate international club acts like Jokers Of The Scene, Momma’s Boy, C.R.S.T., Luna-C, Bok Bok and a host of others. Infused with House and channeling the power of Rave with an underpinning of Bass; this 16 track collection of kick ass features some of their favorite tracks they've had the pleasure to release!

This compilation is a mix of the labels acts as well as a few of their favorite remixes. Some of their biggest charting tracks like Udachi & Jubilee’s “Paypur” and the Jokers Of The Scene remix of Rob Threezy appear alongside tracks that somehow fell through the cracks like AC Slater’s “Night Shift” and Proper Villains’ “Rave Juice”. The comp starts with a classic track - Rampage’s “Big Breath” – a B’more / House jam that gets stuck in your head with a heavy vibe like no other. I Never Dance

Born and raised in the city of Bologna, 26 year old dj and producer I Never Dance, finally delivers his first EP to Instant Replay.

Known in the industry for his outstanding work as right hand and engineer to well known producer Graziano Ravenna, he has made his mark on the international producers scene. But always in the background. Now that he moved to Western Europe to pursue his solo-career, his technical skills come in handy for his big-room sound. Tweaked to perfection with one thing in mind; the dance floor. Raise your hands from Riccione to Ibiza, from L.A. to Tokyo, here’s I Never Dance.

Rolling With The Punches

PUNCHES is the Brooklyn based late night disco project of twin brothers Greg and Darin Bresnitz—who can be found tearing it up as DJ duo Finger on the Pulse—and nightlife pioneer Alan Astor, who got crowds up and dancing with his 2005 solo hit “Fantastic Fantasy.”

PUNCHES' synth littered, airy beats are rooted firmly in the soul filled space between disco and electro. “Feeling Right,” the debut single off their Sleepless City EP, features Astor's warm, classic-sounding vocals and reveals PUNCHES as a club-ready band that can make it through ‘til morning, when you come to in the light of day and reflect on the night you’ve just had.

The release of PUNCHES’ Sleepless City EP also marks the inaugural release of Travis Hayden's (IHEARTCOMIX, Big Beat) newest label, Our Label.

DJ Donna Summer Feels Love

Nightshifters label head Jason Forrest is back with a vengeance as DJ Donna Summer! He’s here to shake asses and even make you think a little bit. Raw, his first Ep for Nightshifters and first release in 2 years, is filled with syncopated drums, far-out bass, and hybridized house organs to take you well into the next morning.

The title track “Raw” is an expansive bass tune with enough sexual innuendo to keep a nun awake for a week and sounds like a deep wobbly 70's porn film soundtrack. Throw in a bunch of samples and you have one heck of a dirty little tune that's just waiting to explode all over the dance floor.

They're Your Pushermen...

In the shadow of Manhattan’s skyscrapers, Disco Pusher -- the musical partnership of Sisko and David Greenberg -- are working feverishly on a staggering, ever-expanding canon of songcraft. Like mad scientists of sound, few can rival the pair’s inexorable work ethic as songwriters, producers, remixers and recording artists.

Counting remixes for pop icons (Justin Timberlake, Gwen Stefani), hip/hop’s elite (Lil Jon & Too $hort) and up and comers of every variety (Cut Copy, The Bravery, Santogold, The Editors, Scissor Sisters), Disco Pusher belongs on the shortlist of any new or established artist looking to bring its music to new heights.

Throw in some work with film and you have a crew that's multi-media savvy, remix friendly, busy as hell and so spot on they can take tomorrow and dip it in a dream (anyone??). Their work is prolific and they've got more material than they even handle waiting in the wings. Where these guys find time to breathe is beyond me, but I'm glad they are because without them the dance floor wouldn't be the same.

We're Leaving From Mars

Play Me Records is a new label from the heart & soul of longtime DJs Reid Speed & Mark Subsonik who teamed up to bring forth a musical outlet for all things fun yet bass heavy. Their vision stems from their shared love of the bass part of drum & bass and Reid's serious genre mashing, crowd rinsing DJ sets. The sounds they bring demonstrate a diverse range of styles which find consistency in the low end.

The genre varies by release, but ranges from the bassline side of electro & fidget house to the grittiest, gnarliest dubstep. Play Me has cultivated a fine roster of original artists and remixers in its short existence, and takes pride in seeking out serious heat from up and coming talent.

The first release featured Supercycle's "The Dead Walk" with After Midnight's "No Tomorrow", the second, Your Dirty Habit's remix of "No Tomorrow" with a Lazerbitch original "Coquette".

Now they are proud to present their latest release: Lea Luna's Leaving From Mars (Remixes Pt. 1). Featuring the vocal stylings of Denver-based siren Lea Luna, remixers B. Rich and Mike Balance each create a unique setting for her escape.

Gooseflesh Gives Goosebumps

Signed on the Boxon Records label, Gooseflesh is the alliance of two producers from Turkey: Ulas Pakkan (aka Jackdied) and Volkan Akaalp (aka Jasko).

This Middle Eastern duo has caused plenty of dance floor damage not only, in their home country, but worldwide. Working with Digitalism and Tiga on two noteworthy remixes for "Taken Away," and "Mind Dimension," respectively, the duo has escaped the Mideast and are now positioning themselves as a promising young duo.

Judging by their latest single, Still Wild this shouldn't take them very long. Sounding a bit like an old 90's piano house classic rammed together with some loopy electro and a strong pop sensibility, the tune is a party anthem waiting to cross over from the Med and throw you around a dance floor. Packed with huge hooks and a chorus that you'll NEVER forget this tune is easily one of the better singles you're likely to hear this Fall. Top stuff.
