Baltimore trio Double Dagger (Denny Bowen, Bruce Willen, Nolen Strals) are wrapping up production of their first release for Thrill Jockey due out on May 5th. The band has been hard at work recording in the upper reaches of the Current Gallery in Baltimore. Braving freezing temperatures and utilizing a lot of duct tape, extension cords and space heaters to stay warm, the band decided to record the album themselves in order to take their time and make sure they captured the live energy they're known for.
Judging by the picture above they pretty much destroyed the studio they were recording in. After listening to a bunch of tracks that's not to hard to believe. Their songs are shambolic and frenetic with enough energy to solve all our problems. It's crazy noisy bombastic stuff that might just blow your ears clean off.
Until their new album comes out enjoy some older material...
