Kennedy Knows Life Is A Party

Singer/songwriter and Sliverlake native Kennedy is an artist who dances to the reflection of his own disco ball. He is pure pop goodness that will have you throwing your hands up in saccharine pop glee. This is a guy that has no problem making pop songs that sound like the Soup Dragons on a sugar high and hooks bigger than life itself and then slowing things down to sound something like Jamiroquai lost in a disco.

Following a brief stint in the band The Silversun Pickups, Kennedy went on to develop a uniquely eclectic type of pop music and has created a persona that’s been coined as the purveyor of “electro trash”. His last single “Karate” was featured in Nick and Nora’s Infinite Playlist and will soon be heard in the upcoming indie film, Saint John Of Las Vegas, starring Steve Buscemi and Sarah Silverman.

Kennedy’s latest release is Life Is A Party and features the standout track, "John and Yoko," where our pop hero is joined by the guest vocals of the French and adorably hip Yelle. Check out the track below and revel in it's sugary perfection.

After listening to these tracks it's hard to believe that this guy was ever associated with the Silversun Pickups as his material is exactly the opposite of everything they're about. Shoegazing revivalism this is not...glittery, dance-tastic pop it is. Kennedy has that magic in that Camelot traditional Kennedy family sort of way. Related or not, he clearly has the knack for big tunes and after listening to these tracks I have no doubt that Life Is a Party!
