Acid Pauli Kicks Off The New Year.

After his rather menacing vision called World's End (Hometrainer/Acid Pauli 12", Dec 2010) Acid Pauli pulls another two more typical tricky tracks out of his musical drawer. But, to confuse right from the scratch, he gave them polarizing names such as "Like It" and "Don't Like It". Has he possibly planted something on us?

"Gefällt Mir" (English "Like It") becomes proudly led by a vivid Flamenco melody. It starts right swiftly to enter eagerly into an Acid-Paulish play with tensions. A few peaks must be crested before the barge steers over to in twilight's dazzling Andalusian haven.

"Gefällt Mir Nicht" (English "Don' Like It") gets a little more time to build up. Guided by a springy beginning the track builds up brick by brick, until a noise emerges and changes things completely. This noise – let's name it violin screaming – becomes something to remember because the magic violin pops up unpredictably whilst the track constantly maintains its melacholic ways.

So that's his latest release in a nutshell...the guy seems to put these things out in an assembly line fashion with the highest quality. Check out the versions below and buy them here.

Acid Pauli Returns

Back in February, I posted a couple of tracks by Acid Pauli. If you remember Acid Pauli is better known as Console in the ever popular Notwist. He's a musician on a rampage and can't be stopped. Following several releases through 2009 (Marvin on Compost, Smaul 06 & Smaul 07) plus releases earlier in the year including Riverboat Tour. Now, he's at it again by providing us with summery tunes that are psychedelic and deeply thrilling.

His reputation continues to develop with his atmospheric tracks that are from another world. Throw in some strange influences to that ambiance and you have a guy that produces tracks that are out there and far more melodic than your average minimal techno track.

See for yourselves...

Aciiiiiid Pauli

Call me biased, but when you're name is some play on my name, I kind of feel obligated to post your tracks. Acid Pauli is better known as Console in the ever popular Notwist. But when he's not touring with that band, he hole's himself up and creates bleepy minimal bliss.

He's pretty good at it too. With tracks on Compost and DOXA, he's obviously accumulating a bit of a good reputation. With slow build ups that are tense and layered, his tunes eventually explode into a frenzy of chaotic glitches. Throw in some strange influences and you have a guy that produces tracks that are out there and far more melodic than your average minimal techno track.
